  18. To interface with my Los Angeles FreeNet (LAFN) account,
  19. using their menuing system, I've written a set MS-DOS Kermit
  20. Scripts to emulate the presence of a Kermit
  21. server at the other end my connection with the Freenet BBS/eMail
  22. account.  Part of the purpose is to provide a command line 
  23. interface, opposed to the normal menu interface they provide,
  24. and also to provide a mechanism for writing scripts to interface
  25. with LAFN that will be portable across operating systems I might use.
  26. (LAFN has decided they will no longer make changes to the BBS side of
  27. their operation).

  29. I have to uniformly prefix the names of most of the scripts with an 
  30. arbitrarily chosen character (I've chosen 'f' for FreeNet), to 
  31. distinguish them from the already existing Kermit commands.
  32. For examples, fremote, fsend, fget, fmail, instead of remote, send, get,
  33. mail etc.

  35. My question is, is there any way to get these scripts to override the
  36. normal Kermit commands, so there would no longer be any need to use
  37. the prefixing character?

  39. While still under developement, I'm past the main hump on this project,
  40. and would be glad to show these to any one interested, either for their
  41. own use, or to critique them.
